Mid-century Indian Contemporary figurative painting with abstract background on panel or masonite. It appears to date sometime between 1950s and 1970s. It is signed lower left "Bhattacharya". There are a number of Indian artists with this name and we have not been able to attribute this work to one specific artist. The painting measures 15 inches by 11 inches and is 1.25 inches deep framed. The panel has a chalk number 11540 on the back. The painting is in excellent condition with no signs of damage. $650.
